I've just got a hold of a 30HP Nissan with a blown top piston. No compression on that top cylindar at all.

Several questions about it... I'm wondering if I can get to the gudgion pin through the reed valve hole to remove the bad piston, or will it take a complete tear down to get at the piston?

What's a good source for parts for this motor?

Re: Piston Replacement

There's a plate on the side of the cylinder... It's listed as the exaust plate.

Does that allow access to the pistons and pins?

You have to take the block apart to get to either piston and parts are available from any Nissan or Tohatsu dealer.

Stuck rings? Might want to try the unseize procedure first before tearing it apart, its very cheap and easy. If you search all forums I think you can find that info here on this site.
