Is it uncommon for the speedo not to work until you get to WoT. Mine wont work until im at higher speeds. Do you think i have an obstruction in the line or a faulty speedo, or is this just normal? Thanks Guys

disconnect at speedo, and blow the hose out. could have kritter living in the line. the speedo works on air pressure. the water force against the small hole in the pitot, pressurizes the air in the tube, increasing the pressure, causing the needle to move. they usually do not read until 5 mph.

Also follow the tube to the dash and make sure it is not pinched anywhere.
People like to put wire ties on stuff and restrict the tube.
A toothpick in the small hole on the pitot to clean that out works sometimes too...;)

I did blow through the tube before i installed the new speedo. Is it uncommon for water to make its way to the speedo. I only state this becuase when i reinstalled the tube to the speedo the pressure was to high and actually blew the tub off and water started to come out at high speeds. Just curious.

I have not had one that water made it all the way to the speedo.
Maybe try a new pitot kit...about 15 bucks here at Iboats..

If i blow directly into the speedo tube close to the speedometer should the MPHs move up? I blew into it to find out if my speedo was faulty and i couldnt get it to move. My wife says I am full of hot air so I was thinking it should move a little, any thoughts?

it takes a lot of pressure for them to move, you blowing into it would have no effect. i use my air compressor, i hold the nozzle about 10 inches away, and blow into the nipple on the speedo. don't blow directly or you will blow up the unit.
