California Winterizing that is.

Took cover off boat. It's been covered since Wednesday.

Added 1/2 pint oil to gas tank (I'll stop by the gas station in the morning)

Tossed in a couple of fishing poles and a net.

Hooked to truck.

Take to river and burn a few gallons of gas. Then bring home and put the cover back on.

I envy you southern guys. I did the full winterize on mine last weekend. Our winters aren't to bad but bad enough that my old bones can't take it.
****

Yepblaze,
Looks like a real classic you got there.
Is that early-mid sixties Glaspar? Engine-can't tell 40-75HP Johnson/Evinrude?
Same vintage trailer too?
What's winter? :D

Boat is a 63 Glasspar Citation.

http://www.fiberglassics.com/glasspar/glasspars63001.html

Powered by a 79 Suzuki DT50. Kinda slow 27mph as indicated but cost around $1200 after aquireing the boat, trailer, and motor then refubishing the assentials like springs, wheels, controls, and cables. And use an early 80's 2hp honda for a kicker trolling motor.

The Fishing boating trip went well even though I caught nothing today.

http://www.thefishsniffer.com/cgi-bin/bbs/mainforum.pl?read=6027

Yep,,,,make sure you run some fuel thru her that's been stabilized.....Stabil is one product and I'm sure in the frozen northland there are many fuel stabilizers. It keeps the fuel from turning to varnish in the bottom of the carbs. Saves you big time hassels in the spring...
