Hello all. I have a '02 quicksilver 11'2 inflatable with a '98 johnson 8hp short shaft. The boat/motor combo works well for me. Questions is - when I go to get up to cruising speed, the boat seems to "climb" up for quite a while. Sometimes this is even scary. I actually have to lean forward to bring the bow down. Once down, however, everything is ok. Ride, control, speed, etc. I've tried adjusting the leg trim, and even the weight onboard. Does anyone know of some sort of "hydrofoil" I can install on this small of a motor? I've seen them advertised for bigger engines but not my little 8hp. Thanks for any input, Toni.

Re: planeing problem

yes. they make them for 50hp and under, and 50hp and over. the two piece is what your looking for i think. <br />if it is too wide, i've heard of people trimming them off at the sides and they say it works like a charm! :) if you are industrious you can even look at the overall shape and form. and make a custom set out of two 6"x8" 1/8" stainless steel plates to just cut & bend at the back and bolt on.
