Hey all, Couple of us are planning to go out next friday. If anyone would like to join let us know. We have not decided the location we are going yet. Ronald, How is fishing in Raritan bay at the moment?

Not sure
I would imagine it would be similar to Jamaica Bay due to the time of the year.
Most of what goes on in Raritan Bay is cruising, jet skiing and swimming
I'm speaking of the part on the west side of Sandy Hook. The East side of the park is the Atlantic Ocean
I have to dig the picture out but I actually had a FOX try and steal my tackle box while I was surf fishing.
It was actually very funny. The tackle box was too heavy to run with

I tried to go out this morning but there was a small craft advisory and the waves were 3 plus feet.
It was also getting ready to rain AGAIN
Now I will try tomorrow.
If I can't get out any this week. I may have to play hookie on Friday and join you.

would be great if you joined. i been looking at the reports on noreast.com and it looks like there is bass in the hudson river between george washington bridge and tapanzee bridge. theres a ramp that costs $10 to launch or we can use the beach and launch for free. its called hazard dock boat ramp.

Hope you guys are all in... if not this trip... soon!! Looking forward to seeing the fleet amassed! lol. The first substantive reports from Jamaica Bay are trickling in today and they are from valued sources... fingers crossed... this could be the opening bell!!! @ Ronald J how long does it take for you to get up this way??

It takes about 4 hours.
I use to make the drive to Ft Monmouth once a month for work

I just found out that Whalerbob is close to me, so we will have to meet up

swap is approved. i am in. Motor was OK. just plastic arms for throttle limit when its in reverse is broken. will get it fixed this Monday.

Glad to hear. I had motor issues to begin the season. All squared away now. Last night I finally started to do some real work on my command center... it is going to be way cool. Not spilling the n beans yet but even I'm impressed with my work. Lol

I can't wait to see it.

Glad to hear. I had motor issues to begin the season. All squared away now. Last night I finally started to do some real work on my command center... it is going to be way cool. Not spilling the n beans yet but even I'm impressed with my work. Lol

Nice. I am working on keeping my boat organized to the best of my ability. When in the boat i want everything packed nicely so when i am jumping chop nothing os rattling or flying around. As Ronald mentioned a cooler would be nice just wondering if i hit chop at 15-20mph how would my cooler react to that

The cooler I showed you would fit between the tubes.
In fact you would need to put the cooler in before you inflated the boat all the way.
That is the kind of fit I was looking for.
Anything else is going to move around.
Now that I have 2 bench seats my storage has gotten better.
When the other storage bag gets here that may totally solve my problem

It won't be physically impressive. .. it's what I'm planning to be able to do with it. Proof of concept phase is done and now it's wiring and one last "part" to order. Dying to spill the beans but I want an unveiling, lol

Weather update for friday: high 68, expected isolated thunder storms and wind at 11mph. I am hoping this happens in the evening. Hopefully get at least half a day of quality fishing

I just checked and it looks like the weather is Thursday!??!! In either case, hopefully it will settle before then and we will have great weather

I'm going to settle for just cruising in the boat.
I'm trying to set up the chart plotter/gps.
I'm trying to connect the VHF/gps to the chart plotter gps.
The high water is throwing things off.
I need the unit dialed in before I concentrate on serious fishing
