anyone have a simple set of plans for an engine stand. I have a very small 4 HP that needs a little attention. Would be helpful to rest it on something. If you have an easy set of plans or idea I'd appreciate it.

thx

Re: plans for engine stand

For a motor that size, I just clamp a 2x4 in the vise, and screw a leg on the free end to support. I keep this "L" around for just that
purpose. For heavier outboards, cut a slot in two 2x6 (or 8) legs, make two triangle gussets out of plywood, and fasten the bottom of
the legs to a couple 2x4's for balance. Set a 2x8 in the slots and your done! I run a Super Marathon 75hp Merc 6 cyl. on a stand like this
all the time.
