I have a 73 evinrude 9.5. I bought it recently. It is in excellent shape. I bought it from the original owners son.
It has a plastic 3 blade prop.
A couple questions:
Did evinrude put plastic props on these motors?
I talked to a guy who is selling a metal 2 blade prop that he bought for his 9.5 but never used. Anyone using a 2 blade prop on 9.5

I would like to get a spare prop. Not sure if I should buy this guys 2 blade prop?

I would buy it, just so you have a spare. The plastic one would break pretty easy, if you should hit a rock with it. I believe the two blade would give you a little more speed too.

Great to see your question. I have the exact same motor with that same plastic prop (actually some kind of composite better than just plastic). Always wondered about it and I did find out it was the prop that came with the motor when new. Best of luck. Rick.

OMC did have those plastic props back in those days. I've taken new mts out of the box and that was the stock prop.

So, anyone have experience using the 2 blade prop.
If it offers a little more speed, wouldn't I be giving up something in power?
I'm running the motor on an 14' Alumacraft F7.
