I have a bunch of Plastic worms that were my dads. about 1/2 still feel real good and oiled and on the other side of those boxes the worms feel alittle dry and seem to need to have oil put on them. Is there a house hold oil I can use or do I need to get a oil that is for these worms.

I have read something online about Anise Oil. Not sure if I can get it at the local super market or not. Guess I will have to check.

I like #9 - cod liver oil and anise.

There are also scents you can purchase at Bass Pro, Walmart, etc., (any fishing shop). Get yourself a baggy (food zip lock bag or a glass jar) throw in some plastic worms, add oil (not much) and squish around. I do it all the time and it works fine.

I live in a very small town and went out today and I can not get Anise oil in town. We dont even have a Walmart. LOL ... I figured I would not find it here. So, now I need to find some or maybe use some smelly jelly or something else.

If you can't find anything nearby I would use some WD-40 or some other vegitable oil substitute

If they feel dry, oil them up with a little mineral (baby) oil, and then add the scent later. A good scent oil (Kick-n-Bass) will oxidize and get hard after awhile. Don't apply them till yer ready to fish.

I've been makin' plastic worms for 30 years off and on. The proper thing to use is a mixture of light lube and plasticizer usually called "worm" oil. Mineral oil works in a pinch.

If some of them are the super stretchy 3X variety, keep them well separated, as they will pretty well wreck any other plastic they come in contact with except the stuff they make tackle boxed out of.

This fish was caught on one of my worms.

Re: Plastic Worm info needed

Thats a NICE Bass.. I am new at this. I just got my first boat a few weeks ago and did some work on the boat. Now it is ready for some fishing. My father passed away a few years ago and being the only boy I got all of the hunting and fishing stuff. I did fish with him when I was young but not much. As he was a Officer in the Marine Corps and he took he fishing and hunting just about as serious as being a Officer in the MArines. So, needless to say it was not much FUN at times. I have had to throw out some of his tackle as it had sit up for so long it would just fall apart (ie. spinners ect.) but for the most part the worms are realy good. I have a bunch of top water lures and some under water lures. Have NO CLUE which lure is best for what fish or even how to work them much. So, this will be a leaning thing but at this point I just want to relax, have some FUN and if I catch something cool. If not, OH WELL doesnt matter one way or the other. I have deep heads, Large mouth & Small mouth Bass hanging on the wall. But, they are all dads. I would like to add one of each to wall with his just because I know he would have enjoyed that.

The two biggest fish that came into the boat this year........were on her string.

New boat name: MiLady's Boat
My new job title: Debbie's bass boat driver.

Took me 25 years to get her to throw a bass bait. Now she's dragging me to Cabelas to buy marine electronics.

Here's the deadly bait. The one she threw was motor oil in color and dipped in Kick-n-Bass crawfish oil.

Anddd to that person who said that thing about the puppy (horrible imagery btw), we're not going to tell people what they want to hear just because we want a best answer. No.
