Platinum or copper plugs?

I have a 1994 5.8L FIPMDA and wondering what plugs I should use. I figured I'd stick with Autolites or Motorcraft. Are platinums worth it or should I stick with copper core? Or can anyone recommend a brand and type that works the best?

Thanks

How long can I keep the platinums in for? I assume change copper core every year?

Re: Platinum or copper plugs?

every two years is normal for an automobile with copper plugs. Platinum tips are there only for the longevity of the plug. Since boats get nowhere near the hours, and double the maintenance attention, copper is perfectly adequate.

I guess a nice double platinum plug could pay for itself if you cleaned them up real nice, changed washers out, and kept them for about 6 years...
