Please Help! 1974 7.5 Merc Gas Probs

I have gass spraying out of the tube that is right by the choke butterfly and flooding my motor. It does it once the motor fires about 2 seconds into running. Then it does it for about 5 or 6 pull start attempts then stops, then the motor fires again and then floods out! How do I get it to stop? Please help. Stuck

Sounds like your float is full of gas and the needle is not shutting the flow off.Or the needle and seat have a piece of dirt blocking them.
Pull the float bowl off and change the needle and seat and the float if necessary.
