Be patient with me I'm new to boats:
I have a force 50hp (not sure of year, mid 80s?)
After a day out with problems shifting, I came back and noticed that the part that seals the gear case (hub?) had been forced to rotate, snapping the bolts that hold in it. The prop spins more easily now than it did before that day, and I had noticed that loosening those bolts made the prop easier to turn before this whole thing happened. Were the bolts torqued too much making too much friction between the prop shaft and this piece, forcing it to rotate and break the bolts??? What do I do now? Thanks alot for any help!
Feel free to email if you need a pic to understand what the hack I'm talking about.
rip_cannon@hotmail.com

Howdy, Kevin.

It is not necessary to put Help! or Please! in your request. It would be very nice, however, to post a Thanks! once you are back on the water.

I haven't been into a Force gearcase, but it sounds like a seized bearing to me.

This is a problem for 12Footer. He should be along as soon as the bass quit biting. :D
