PLEASE HELP how do you run in an engine????

I have just purchased a new petrol Volvo Penta 5.7 v8 can any1 tell me the best way to run this in so I can get the most out of my engine

You should have received an owners manual for your engine and drive. There is a section in the OM on how Volvo Penta recommends you to break it in.
