I need to repair or replace this unit, but it doesn't match up to anything in my manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's on a 1984 ( I believe ) Force 50 hp outboard.

check johnson/evinrude circa 1970's. don't recall exact model & year but that looks like a johnnyrude to me. i thin it was used on 30-50hp. pick a random year - say 1976 - and look under accessories - electrical - power tilt. you should find one that matches.

I checked online at some "johnnyrude" dealers and nothing looked the same.

I don't know if it'll help, but the piston side said " Prestolite " on it right below the fill plug.

Re: Please help identify this power tilt/trim...

it's all NLA? bummer. is that for johnson parts too?

if you get desperate send me a pm. prestolite tends to use the same parts over and over. From pic the motor and ram are standard. The gearcase is unknown. It probably uses standard parts but in a little different configuration to compensate for shape of housing. If you can't find the parts then I can probably fix it in my spare time. if won't be done fast but at least it will be done right. look for parts first though. one-offs suck down tons of time.
