Please help me identify this Evinrude

I need help identifying the YEAR of this motor so I can buy the correct powerpack for it.<br />The model number is: VE200SLESE<br />The serial number is: G 02574514<br /><br />The original powerpack number is: 584020 23CP-OA<br />The iboats.com parts finder says this number is not in their records! please help......thanks to any that respond.

VE - Evinrude styled for a particulair boat builder<br />200 - 200hp<br />S - Special Styling<br />L - Longshaft (20" transom)<br />ES - 1990<br />E - Meaningless model run code.<br /><br />The date code works like this:<br />INTRODUCES<br />1234567890<br />So ES is '90, since E=9 and S=0.<br /><br />Hope this helps, and good luck with the powerpack!

Looks like a 1990 200XP from here. 584037 should be the part number for the pack.

Thank you everyone for the replies!!<br />That powerpack never has been changed to my knowledge. It is my friends engine. I found the number I posted on the side of the powerpack, I don't know why it does not appear to be a good OMC number when Xref'ing??!?!?
