Please help , Tach don't work

Ok , On my 2000 Lowe 170 Bass boat the tach does not work . But the lights and system check works . I have had two different motors on the boat I have a 2000 9.9 hp no tach , system check works . Put my 1984 Evinrude 70 hp with my new adapter wiring harness , all other gauges work but tach does not work . Does anybody have any ideas ?

Rectifier might be bad. Most common problem when the tach does not work.......

Is it possible that the recifier could be bad on both motors ? Is there anyway to test or checks tach it's self ? Thanks for the quick response . I'm still going to check the recifier anyways .

Replced recfier still no luck . is there a fuseable link in there or can anybody please tell me how to check the tach or there test that I could do myself .
