please help testing a regulator /rectifier 50hp forse

i am testing all my parts for my 50 hp forse 1989 bayliner modle # 507x9a and im down to the reuglator /rectifier and im not shure how to test it i have a ohms meater please help im doing so because i have no spark also is there any thing i else i can check besides the stator, fuse braker switch.

your rectifier /regulator will not affect your spark .it is there to charge the battery ..you need to be checking the resistance of the charge coils in the stator ( 1 per cylinder) and the trigger coils could be 1 or 2 dependent on system .....if they all check out and are not grounded ( ohm meter one wire /ground) then it looks like switch box or coil ....ohm meter the coil primary and secondary with it disconnected. Never crank the engine with the plug leads off ..you may kill the switch box ..

The general idea is you check everything else and if its no go then its a switch box fault
