I Have an 85 Bomber Bassmaster. The state will not issue a trailer plate without knowing the weight of the trailer empty. I have no way to physically weigh it without the boat on the trailer. The trailer model is a Fiber King 1558.

I can not find any info online or anywhere for that matter.

Does anyone have this trailer and know the weight? Or have any other ideas to get the weight?

Thanks for any help

Put boat in water. Pull trailer to a truck stop that has scales.

Welcome to iboats.

Guess how many beans are in this jar? Tough question without proper information. For anyone to make even a remote guess about your trailer we probably need more information ;)

Number of axles?
Is it a steel or aluminum trailer?
Length x Width

I was not able to find your trailer on line......

I would guess the most accurate way to the weight is as stated above........ have it weighed empty

I've come across this before in Michigan. All I did was look up the weight of a comparable trailer and told them that weight. Wasn't a problem. You didn't say where you are from and if your state is looking for a scale weight or a verification from the manufacturer, then you may have to it to a scale.

We always make up a weight. The actual number is irrelevant as they are never going to weigh it. Use say 900 lbs.

I told them my tandem axle weighed 400 lbs. They took it. They have NO idea.

Around here, the following places have scales and will weigh a trailer for $5:

Gravel Pits
Scrap Yards
Farm Feed Stores
Truck Stops

Another way is to weigh it yourself. Get a bathroom scale. Put the trailer on level ground. Put the tounge (jack) on the scale. Note the wieght. Put each wheel on the scale, noting each weight. Add the weights. This is assuming a single axel trailer. If dual axel, you will need two scales and weight both wheels on each side at the same time (since most dual axel trailers have load equalizers between the axels).

Im in michigan. They asked for a official weight slip. I cant take it to a scale the nearest scale is about 100 miles away. I have already been stopped with out a plate on it and have been told by local police they would impound it if they caught me again.

I work at a recycling facility PM me your mailing address and what you want the scale ticket to say and I'll stamp you one out and mail it to you :) I can cut the address off of the ticket as it will be in arkansas or I can make a copy and white it out be sure to include a brief description of the trailer. Actually in hind site if they will take a copy I can scan it and email it to you :)

You would have to be way way way out in the boonies to be 100 miles from a scale.

Very possible if he is in the UP.
You can drive 50 miles to find a gas station UP there.
