please help with an OMC

I have a 1987 OMC V-8, I over heated a week ago. I have changed the following parts, <br />Starter, cable to starter, cap, rotor, elec. Modulator, condenser, spark plugs.<br />I have sparks, compression, and fuel. What else is there????

the problem is too hot or won't run? did one follow the other? how much compression? your post doesn't give much to work with. to much detail is way better than to little. tell me more.

None of your repairs address overheating. What is your exact problem?

sorry about that, changed t-stat and impellor. i have water flow, but now the engine will not start.

whats an elec. modulator? Do you mean ESA module? I know this is a dumb question, but did you put the plug wires back in the same spot?

yes plugs and wires are back the same way. i have spark. it just will not start. :confused:

If you have spark (check to see if it is strong)fuel and compression, it HAS to ignite if not start. Recheck your plug leads. Also check plugs - spark at leads doesn't alway mean spark at plugs.<br />Overheating is a seperate problem unless head gasket is gone but then compression should be affected.
