2008 mercury elpto 50hp 2 stroke

are the two cables for the throttle and shifting the same cables?

I had a dealer send me two cables, but the one seems short and I have no additional adjustment left to extend.

the shift hook up is closer to the front, with the throttle a couple of inches back?

The two cables are identical, same length, same ends.

If one cables seems not to fit, check to be sure that you are hooking the correct cable to the correct linkage.

After replacing the cables at the control box, shift the control into gear while watching the cables ends to be sure which is Shift and which is Throttle.

It is a common error to install the cables backwards at the motor end.
