I have done everything I can think of (#1) checked comp its fine, (#2) new plugs and wires, (#3) checked stator with olm's meter its fine . I just don't get it, this 1978 85hp 3 cyl chysler engine has got me puzzled. It fires up everytime and when in neutral you can rev the engine up and it sounds so strong. but when you take it to the lake and soon as you pass the no-wake zone and start to give it gas it starts mis-firing and seems to be smoking more than normal and will only get up to 10-15 miles an hour full throttle. PLEASE if any one has any suggestions I sure would be greatful.

Thanks for any ones input on this! EDIT

Re: PLEASE PLEASE HELP/ 85hp #2 cyl no spark

Not sure about that particulars for your motor, but I had the same problem (1987 force 85hp) I switched the CDI modules around and coils. Found that My 1st CDI module was only firing 1st cylinder not the second. I then switched the 2nd CDI module( it fires the 3rd, bottom cylinder) so that it would fire the 1st and 2nd and would only fire the 1st. I had 2 bad CDI modules both were only firing one cylinder. I purchased a new one, installed it and fixed the problem.

Test the CDI Modules and coil

You are clearly dropping a cylinder. What makes you think the problem is no spark?

Have you tried pumping the primer bulb? Have you tried squirting some fuel into the #2 carb?
