I need some advice plz
I have an 05 larson 248 lxi
the starboard side front windshield busted. I can't find any replacement glass for this 1 piece, it is a 5 piece windshield. Could I use plexiglass in its place? it does have some bend in it. If so would it look ok?

First you guys need to reduce the size of your images.

That said, I would look at lexan over plexiglass, more durability and does not cloud up like plexiglass does.

Ok on the image it said it needed to be smaller than 2mb so I reduced to 1.3mb. Does it need to be smaller? That was my 1st pic to upload on this site.

ok I will look into lexan. Do the big box building supply stores carry this stuff?

If you are planning on forming you own by heat forming Lexan don't tear the old windshield out till you have made some templates to make a mold. Read up on forming Lexan so you have an idea of what the temperatures are to form it.

Internet images don't need to be more than about 500 to 600 K for most monitors to display them correctly. Just about any image program now a days will reduce the size of an image for web use. The only reason I mention it, is many of us still have very low speed connections, mine is 1.5 mbs and it takes a long time for me to download a 2 mb file.

Start calling around to you various glass shops in the area and see if they have Lexan or if they can point you in the right direct, it is good stuff.

We are in a boat rich area and lucky that most of the shops will do the forming for you for little cost. Many of them have templates for a lot of boats out there.

Have you Googled "boat windshield glass replacement" to see if any of the glass shops in your area can provide a glass replacement.

Also, many of the boat windshields are made by Taylor Industires. Maybe there is a way to source a replacement piece. It won't be cheap.

We have done it with a 70's era runabout with Lexan and it had a curve. Not a DIY in my opinion if it has a curve. Ruin 1 piece and you could have had it done by a Pro for less $$. The stuff isn't cheap up here.
