Im about ready to prime and paint my old fiberglass boat. I have decided to use the tip and roll method (brush on) but am wondering where to buy the paint and primer, and what kind to get?

I have sanded the heck out of the top of the boat, but would like to cheat on the underside some if there is a "sandless primer" available. I see that Interlux has a "sandless primer" but it says it's for antifouling paint, and I dont plan on using antifouling paint ( this is just my old fishing boat and it does not see saltwater or long periods in the water).

Pls advise, thanks.

Right here at iboats is an excellent source for interlux paints and supplies. Remember, the quality of your finish which includes how long it sticks to the boat is directly related to the prep you put into it.

I'm a painter(residential/commercial) and the above reply is correct...I'll just say this, you can buy the best paint in the world and if you dont prep it correctly, well,it's not going to last.Try to wire brush, scrape and sand best you can, wipe it down with thinner. Use a bottom primer/paint designed for your application(aluminum, fiberglass, etc.) on the top, yeah you can get by with rustolium, but once again, prep it!
