Plug for new lower gear

I purchased a lower gear box for my 1989 Force 150. The unit purchased has a through hub exhaust. I have since been told that this is an updated model to the new style gear case but it will not work on the 1989 150 without a special plug for the modification. The place of purchase know nadda about the plug. Where can I find the plug to purchase? And where do I put the plug?<br />Help would be greatly appreciated!
