(supposed to be bump??)oh well I tried!

What's the best method for sealing my drain hole.?
I made a new one in the center as the old one was an inch or two too high, on starbord side, and too much water always remained.
Regular epoxy sealer stuffed in, or should I use a Piece of Dowell? It is a fairly large hole, more than 1" I plan on sanding the transom and repainting anyway... New Hole will have plastic insert. The old hole had aluminum sleeve. Knocked it out, sanded with Dremel and ready to seal. CPES will go in first, but should I send Dowel in, or just cram it full of epoxy sealer?
Thanks
Fiberglass 16ft Chrysler 1966 !

Re: Plug my hole

I think the dowel would work best, expox it in and then prep the glass around the hole to patch on both sides.

Re: Plug my hole

I used high density filler. I slapped a piece of biaxial tape on the inside of the transom hole. When that started to gel, I used a ziplock with a pvc nipple on it, like a pastry bag, to back fill the hole on the outside. Then I smoothed it over with a putty knife to remove the excess and slapped another piece of tape on the back. I champfered the edges of the hole inside and out to 'lock' in the repair and it ain't goin' nowhere. I was gonna use a dowel too but $7 was a bit much and i had the epoxy and filler on hand, and it will never rot. West system suggests pluggin one side of the hole with tissue soaked in epoxy, and then pastry bag style filling. And then doing, the other side. Hey, whatever works!
