Re: plug wire removal

The spark plug wires are permanently attached to the coils. You can replace the spark plug boots and the metal connector on the end of the wire that snaps onto the spark plug, but the wires themselves are connected internally inside the coil.

if they are now too short ..take a needle ( its stainless) about 1 -1/1/4 long ..remove eye and sharpen that end to.....push half into the old cable and half into the new ..hold with long nosed pliers in the centre. spot of super glue and push the two together ..cover with heat shrink sleeving //use the cable with solid wire core .

Yes the spark plug boots just pull off. Replacement boots should be for 7MM wires and are available from automotive parts suppliers. The ones for 8MM or 9MM wires are too big. Take a little liquid dish washing soap to lube the existing wire and they'll slide on/off much easier. If you decide to replace the metal connector on the end of the wire, stainless steel works the best. I've used the standard metal ones and they turned to rust in a matter of weeks.

All the plug caps I have seen screw on to the end of the lead...make sure its not rusted up ..best cut off 1/2 in and fit the new one .. spots of super glue to seal it or silicone
