I recently posted about my engine bogging down intermitantly, replaced fuel, working on replacing fuel lines, etc. My question though is during this work I noticed that the black plug wire to my top cylinder has a tear in it where it slips on to the plug. Not a small tear either, looks like someone shoved a pencil through it. I assume this is not OK? question is can I replace the wires? I have searched and not really found any specific info. And Yes I am still having trouble with the engine although the frequency is less. Thanks in advance.

Willy,<br />Thank you. Can I get new caps at West Marine or Boaters World? And do the caps just slide on or do I splice in the end of new spark plug wires with caps? Thanks for the help.

West Marine does have them on their website, but its listed for a Johnson-Evinrude. They are the same part, under engine systems, then tuneup parts, page 4.
