This is the first year of us growing green beans. They are the climbing type so I need to put some poles in. I have lots of conduit that I was thinking of using. Will the conduit work for them to climb up on? Thanks...........SS

Sure....why not?
I use scraps of conduit to mark my driveway every winter!

The migrant workers have a little community garden in hartville, they just drag some tree branches out of the woods and fashion them into neat little T_P looking things over the plants, is simple better? Those gardens look pretty good.

I use metal fence posts and string twine between them for the plants to climb.

I was just wondering about the galvanized coating. I know the beans won't be in contact with it. I've got about 350 feet of 1/2" ridgid. Providing its not rainy tomorrow, I've got to get them up. Thanks again.....SS

A couple 3-4 foot wooden stakes with a climbing net, or multiple layers of string crossing between posts.
I am not a fan of galvinized anything in the garden.

The slippery surface of the conduit might pose some problems...I use tobacco sticks with baling twine zig-zagged around them at different hights, it works pretty well... If you grow corn next year, wait till the corn is about 18-24 inches high, and then plants your beand beside the corn. They will vine right up the stalk.
