poll: yay or nay? coca-cola paint scheme?

im considering painting my 57 johnson 5 1/2 in coca-cola colors and having the coke decals made, it would be coca-cola classic of course. ( dont give me grief about trade mark infringement!!!) im torn between re-doing it as it was or doing the coke paint job. any thoughts?

It's your engine do what ever you want to with it, I think it might look kinda cool, you only need to worry about the trade mark stuff if you try to make money off of it.

Go for it, you sure won't see another one anywhere.

It is not trademark infrigement if you are doing it for youself and not for monetary gain. I highly doubt that Coke would objet to a little extra free advertising.

Yes, Coke does have a distinctive paint scheme BuT: How will it look on the engine? I would mock it up on the computer with graphics app before committing. If you like it---Hey as said above: its your engine--do what you want.

I prefer art.

Your art is gorgeous Frank, and very unique......but you knew that. Grin I bet you are the talk of the launching ramp when you pull up......"Hey man, where did you have that done?"

It got me out of a ticket from the water police! The guy who stopped me had a mermaid tat on his arm. It would have been a B.S ticket anyway that I would have fought. He stopped me because there were two people in a tube I was towing: Father and 3 year old. He said that they didn't allow it because there was too much Memorial Day traffic and they wanted as few people in the water as possible. What a crock! What about a three person tube? Not illegal here in PA but you are only allowed one person on it?

While they do make an excellent base for decals because of the broad flat expanse, I actually like the design. To me it is classic and elegant, one of the best looking engines to date.

Yes on the best looking.

On crooked cops, best thing to do is to run. No way you can win and if they decide to haul you in, you may never be seen again. Glad we have an honest, professional sheriff and deputies in my county. He runs a tight ship.
