Canvas needs to be done with a heavy duty sewing machine or by hand with a special tool that you can buy in west marine or a hobby shop for half the price of what west marine charges. There a lot of people who do canvas sewing repair for small repairs like this for a very reasonable price. The lady I go to in Rochester,NY does this stuff for like $25 per hour
