Hello everyone,
I own a 1991, 20 foot, Lowe by Johnson Pontoon boat and have to replace my worn out custom made canvas cover since it has been repaired a few times and I don't think it has anymore life left to it. It looks rotted pretty good and if I tried to get it repaired it wouldn't last that long and tear on me again. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody has any experience with the Wake Monsoon Pontoon Boat covers, I was going to get a little bigger one like a 21-24 footer cover to have enough to cover the outboard up with and I am going to buy the Ridgeline Pontoon cover support system to keep the new top from sagging when it rains. Here is the link to the Pontoon boat cover, http://www.wakecovers.com/monsoon_pontoon_details.html and then the link for the pontoon cover support system, http://www.wakecovers.com/pontoonsupport_details.html let me know what you think. I can get both these shipped to my door for a little over 200 dollars from Ebay.

Cant help you on that. I had one made earlier from sumbrella. I got kind of lazy and got tired of messing with tarps and covers and poles and stuff and worrying ever time it rained or the wind blew.

Re: Pontoon Boat cover?

Not a problem MH Hawker. Yeah, I can't afford to by a new custom made top so I am buying one with the cover support system and hopefully it will work fine for my pontoon boat. I do have a custom one on my boat currently but I have had it repaired a few times and now it is ripped and looks worn and is torn in a few places and faded pretty badly. If I touched it just right it would probably tear easily and that is why I shy'd away from repairing it again because it looks rotted and severely worn out tom keep waisting money in it to keep patching it up so I am biting the bullet and getting a new cover with the cover support system to keep it from getting any puddles of water on it. Maybe in a couple of years I will get a custom top made but you know it is a 1991 Pontoon Boat and it is getting older and older but the interior is actually in pretty decent shape for how old it is so that is why I want to get some kind of cover to keep the seats and couches from getting weathered looking as well. Hopefully the new pontoon cover with support system will work for me

Yeap, I do not plan on trailering the pontoon boat with the cover even though it says you can. I will only use it when I am not using the pontoon boat and it is being stored out of the water and on the trailer. :)

I had a setup similar to that two barges back. It was a pain to use but worked fine. Certainly better than nothing.

Absloutly a cover saves your boat period. I used the walmart covers for years and I even went as far as making 2 x 2 frames with a rope down the center tied off to the winch so i could tention it. This time around my wife talked me into a slip so I could fish more. My set up is for a slip and you really need a snap on cover for it.

Re: Pontoon Boat cover?

Yeap, when I get mine installed I am going to raise it as high as it will go so the water has no where to puddle/pond up on me when it rains and it doesn't ruin the pontoon boat cover. When I can afford it in a couple of years I will probably get a new snap on custom made cover like I currently have by then this cover will probably be getting worn out, probably in about three to four seasons then I will get the snap on custom made cover but for now I will see how the new cover I just brought works for me. Thanks for the replies.

Re: Pontoon Boat cover?

We'll after looking at my existing, torn, pontoon boat cover I just took it off and took it to a local trim/upholstery shop in town this morning and will just go ahead and get it patched up. The guy there at the trim/upholstery shop said that it isn't in that bad of shape and what he said he will do is put material both above and below the tears and will go and patch up the tiny holes and resew the seams that have pulled away and will be around $100.00 for the repair so heck I will do that and save me an additional $115 that I was going to spend o another cover anyway that I was not too sure will fit my pontoon boat anyway. So I know my current existing custom made snap down cover works for my boat and I will go ahead and maybe next year get a brand new custom made pontoon cover made just for my boat instead. Thanks for the help. The guy said it should be ready for pickup by the first of next week.

Yeap, I just called the trim/upholstery guy I dropped my pontoon boat cover off with and I asked him if I can pick it up next Wednesday after work because I get my retirement paycheck that day and he said that will work.

Re: Pontoon Boat cover?

We'll everyone,
I picked up my repaired/resewed pontoon boat cover and those guys at the Upholstery shop did a Great!!!!! job on patching my top up and it is good as new for maybe a couple more seasons. The upholstery shop only charged me $60.00 to fix every single rip and hole and they sewed a new patch on everything that was ripped or had a hole in it. I am a happy camper and looking forward to getting everything ready on my pontoon boat to take her out and my wife out for the first time this year and that is what my wife wants to go out on the pontoon boat for Mother's day next weekend.
