I would like to add bunk slicks to about 6 ft. at the frt. of the bunks. But when the toons are resting on the bunks, will the 1/2 in. drop from the slicks to the carpet hurt the toons? Thanks.

Re: Pontoon Bunk Slicks

Consider cutting up a 4 x 8 sheet of PVC lattice from HD or Loews. Cut it into the longest strips you can. Countersink SS screws ( or better yet, bolts) The material is only about an 1/8th inch thick. I have that material on my Carolina Skiff trailer...and I've used it on a couple of boats now. Rich

Re: Pontoon Bunk Slicks

Why on the aft end of the bunks?

I installed slicks on the 1/3 front end of my bunks.

Boat stays on trailer until the aft end floats off trailer.

Then it will slide off if not still hooked to winch stand.

Conversly, the aft end of trailer is to deep at my fav. ramp for the slicks to aid during loading. But helps alot when loading, allowing the boat to slide up the slicked front 1/3 of bunks.

You could router the bunks to accomodate the extra slick thickness. Or add to the bunk thickness where the slicks are absent.
