I have a 22 ft Weeres, just put down new carpet and got the seats redone. Looking to get a cover to protect everything. Anyone have any input on a good cover that will last, I live in Florida so the sun is a huge problem.
Thank you

I too live in Florida and Sunbrella material is the only way to go for longevity. I have friends who simply use blue tarps and replace them every year. That is a much cheaper option.

Just make sure you provide for ventilation or use a dehumidifier to minimize mold.

Re: Pontoon Cover

I have one of those $ 895 metal carport structures , unfortunately my boat is about 2 feet longer than the carport, but I have it covered as well under the port, the cover basically keeps the dirt off only.

before when it was outside, it had a $ 300 cover, supposed to be water proof, but after 1 season it began to let the water in like a sponge, then the seats and carpet were always wet, I put it under the carport and got one of those $ 129 covers and it almost never gets wet and it keeps the dust and dirt off.

the carport really helps keep it from fading in the sun as well, its almost like double protection

Re: Pontoon Cover

My cover came from Dowco. Couldn't say if it's Sumbrella or another fabric. You can find them on line. I was also given a "travel cover" by the dealer. They are pretty much a throw away item for them. The factory used them to protect the boat until it gets to the dealer. I have to say, they are not half bad. They are made of vinyl/naugahyde with felt backing. I find it great for boat storage and they are vented and waterproof.

Re: Pontoon Cover

Check in the yellow pages for people who do truck covers. I installed custom covers on the last 5 boats I have owned. The place I purchased them from specialized in truck covers for flat beds and hoppers etc. They had one person who did boats, 2 a day. They were reinforced where they needed to be, vented, and had a rope to cinch it down. They also provided reinforced tie down loops all the way around the cover and the heavy duty rubber straps truckers use.
