pontoon motor cavitation, HELP!!!!!

I have a 21 foot pontoon with a 60hp mercury on it. Does it really matter what position the motor is on a pontoon as far as performance? It blows out in one hole, but seems to lose a couple hundred rpms in the next lower hole. I recently put a transducer on the left pontoon, would this cause it to blow out?
Thanks ,
Kenny

It is not cavitating, Kenny. It is ventilating.

Keep it down where that does not happen. The couple hundred rpm you "lose" are only pushing bubbles, anyway.
