Pontoon - OK Deal?

Hey guys. My dad is still in search of a boat to keep down at the river and we came across this listing:
Pontoon

I know that the seats need to be recovered and that this can be costly, outside of that fact what are your thoughts? Unfortunately pontoons, and boats in general, run at premium prices up in our area. This is a little bit different style of pontoon than your normal style, particularly the tubes. I'm not really familiar with this style.

Thanks for any help or advice you can give me.

Yes, seating is expensive and that toon seat looks shot. $1000+

It looks like it has been uncovered. Check the flooring for soft plywood. Redo floor = $1500-$2000

75HP motor is a good thing for that toon.

I don't see a top to protect from the sun. You'll want one of those. $500-$800

On a scissor trailer -- good for short hauls. Not really a highway type of trailer.

$5k too much. $3000-$3500 good. MAX $4000

Thank you for the reply. I figured it was overpriced for the issues that need to be addressed. It looks like the search may have to continue!

$3000 - $3500 MAX. Darn near 30 years old and not well taken care of. With the boat in such sad shape what is the inside of the engine like?

If and only if the motor runs its a 1000 boat.

I'm with MH - that 70 is a nice outboard if it's in good shape. That 'toon is a sloppy mess.

Add another opinion to that boat is way over priced. It's age and condition is screaming $1,000 - $1,500! Maybe $2,000 if the engine is in great shape and it is really what you want. Just too much work on a boat that was not cared for ...

As previously mentioned, not a good deal. My other concern is the type of pontoon. These are foam filled. While this in itself is not a problem, should you get a leak, repairing is quite involved as opposed to the standard round pontoon.
