pool / garage help

I have a fairly large backyard, 90x75 wide, I think a nice inground pool should be nice, I dont want to spend the dough so I was thinking about building one myself. Need some words of wisdom pro/con for this project. I think I could do a nice 30x50 pool thats 7-8 ft deep on one side for about 15 thou if I do it myself.



In my garage, about 22x25, I want to have the black and white large chekered tiles, what to use and how to put it down? It's got to be strong enough to support a car on jackstands without cracking

Don't have a clue on Ontario but in Florida you would have to comply with strict building codes, get permits & pass inspections.

For the pool
Unless you know how to do rebar and pour concrete and do pool surfaces I suggest you hire a contractor to do it. Youll be money ahead by hiring a pro. Im a contractor and I can tell you that about 1/2 my jobs are fixing homeowners projects.

for the tile in the garage seriously the best i found was that the best thing to do is a epoxy floor. other than that the best tile i found ( cheapest and most durable ) is the plastic tile you find on the floor of your local supermarket. The nice thing is its a glue down tile and if ti breaks its very cheap and simple to replace

What do you have in mind for a cleaning system? After it is built it can take a lot of time and money to keep a pool looking good and not like a green fish tank. Mine pool came with a life time warr. for the orginal owner. After 10 years, that has save me about $5000 in repairs. Take that into account when you see how much you are saving by doing it yourself.
