I have a 1999 20' chris craft bow rider it weighs about 2800lbs with a 5.0 liter volvo penta sx drive. It's set up with a 21x14.5 aluminum prop. Top end speed is fine but the hole shot is just not there. I dropped down to a 19x14.5 prop, it comes out of the water a bit better but now goes way over wot setting so I don't want to be using that prop.

Any answers????

Re: poor hole shot

try a 20 x 14.5 four blade. You might lose a little top end but your hole shot will improve.

Re: poor hole shot

A set of Nauticus smart tabs should help with the hole shot. Just put a set on my boat and hole shot is definitely improved. Check out the link.

If it's a 5.0 GXi your WOT range should be 4600-5000rpm
