I would appreciate any advice on the following: 1985 175hp black max runs ok with good power, but I'm concerned about overheating possibility. Water pressure gauge shows 8-10psi at idle and pegs meter (25+) as rpms increase. Motor temp gauge runs about 160F at idle, but increases to 210-230F at higher rpms (cools back down to 160F fairly quick when I slow down to low rpms). Pee stream is intermittant at idle and steams a little bit when it first starts flowing each time it starts flowing. Have searched this forum and found references to "poppet valves" issues, but the references indicate a hose coming out of the poppet valve housing. My old 1985 motor does not appear to have a hose coming out of a removable housing other than the thermostats (which have been recently changed), so I am wondering where the poppet valve is on my motor. Thanks, OVU
