poppet valves

Should poppet valves need to be replaces when the impeller is replaced ?

No, but that is a good question. I think most on here would agree that changing the impeller once every year or every other year is good given how easy it is to do, how cheap it is to do and how much damage can occur if you don't. Poppet valve... not so much but it is important. Mine has a weep hole so that when it starts to leak, you see water coming out where it shouldn't be and you know it needs a change. Does yours have that feature?

Im not sure. The motor is 11 years old but has low hrs. ITs a 2002 merc saltwater 150 hp.

Thats actually a vent,if it wasn't there it wouldn't open fully.....
ITs a 2002 merc saltwater 150 hp.
Yep change it.....
