In regards to this thread (didn't want to hijack): http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=507431

My dipstick is popping out of the tube just a bit, but I'm not losing any oil. It's a 488. There is no PCV filter, so what are my options as to the cause? IIRC, there is air coming out of the crankcase vent hose, but I'll double check tonight. If the vent (as indicated in the photo) is clogged, is there a way to clear it without removing the valve cover?

I don't recall if there is a breather box inside or not, I would guess there is. For the price of a valve cover gasket you can find out for sure.

Just had one off yesterday, Don and there was only a small 'bulkhead' to deflect oil.

He still needs to pull his and see if something is blocking it.
