went out fishing the other day drifted into a sand bar.
got out of it ok i thought until the over heat buzzer started going off but the **** tube was
still pouring out. cripled in at an idle the rest of the way without the buzzer going off.
test drove it today got up to full speed and the buzzer went off and the motor throttled down by it self basically ,idled back after buzzer went away. do you think the water jacket is clogged,
or the water pump is not putting out a 100%?

Chances are that your port thermostat is stuck closed. Pull it out and take a look.

Or that head gasket is blown. Time to change 'em both anyway.

Good luck!

What they said and back flush the cooling system with the lower unit off with a garden hose into the thermostat housing or some other cylinder head connection to make sure you get any sand in there out.
