at WOT i can only reach about 3800 rpm sometimes 4000 its a 305 inboard w/alpha one outdrive....whats the highest rpm i can turn my alpha one safely and is there a prop calculator and if i change my prop will that help me gain mph? its a 21p prop now

Have you tried trimming the drive up?

yes...the gauge is not rowking correctly but about 7 clicks up seems to be my formula for best results......y will it go faster up stream then down?

A sbc runs WOT in the 4600-4800 rpm range. Check the sticky at the begining for the diagnostic chart for WOT.
