Possible cracked block I'm not sure

Yesterday while out on the near the end of the day we noticed the engine sounding louder than normal. We were pretty much at the dock at this point and I figured I would check it today. I was thinking maybe exhaust bellows but I think it's worse than that. When I open the engine compartment today and started it hooked to a hose it definitely sounded louder then normal out of the water and I could feel exhaust coming from what I believe is the manifold area and that was the source of the sound. I know very little about engines and I assume this could be a gasket problem or possibly a cracked block? The boat didn't run any differently yesterday nor was it overheating by my gauges. Any tips on what this could be and possible price range to get fixed would be appreciated thank you. I'll attach a picture I'm not sure what the white stuff is on the Block but it's probably not a good thing and you can actually see where it looks like some of the gasket is missing. Thank you in advance for any info you might be able to give me.

Take it to the mechanic. They can slap a new gasket in and do a look over and give you a nice greasy blessing.

What would cause a leaking exhaust manifold gasket? I really didn't think it overheated but could be wrong. Thanks.
