Another question on the 1977 19 ft trihull with a 190hp OMC outdrive. There is a problem with the steering. It was frozen when he bought it, but we managed to free it up, however it still does not have a full range of motion and there is about 4-5 inches of play in the wheel (1/3 of a rotation). The play seems to be coming from the rotary unit. We opened it up and it the gears showed signs of some minor wear. The morse sleeve with the brass ball in the transom is also slightly bent, which limits its right turn capability. We want to fix it. Would a Teleflex Safe-T be adequate or should we go with the Teleflex NFB 4.2? Also would the Teleflex cable need a new transom sleeve(this one is slightly bent) or any other adapters? Thank you very much for any input.

Re: Possible Teleflex steering conversion

Put in a completely new Teleflex NFB 4.2 including transom bracket .. it'll be money well spent.
