I'm having problems getting my boat above idle speed. When I push full throttle it gets just slightly faster but not much. could this be a cable problem or somthing else? please help

Easiest way to tell if cables are working is to remove the cowl/hood and take a look at the linkage. When you move to full throttle it should be opening the carbs up fully.
