Possible to retrofit a generator

I am considering increasing my boat size to a small cabin in the 26 to 28' range from my 20 boat. Most don't have a generator but have a/c to operate from shore power. Is it possible to retrofit a generator in such a situation?

Sure, there making some incredibly small gens these days. Your biggest problem will be finding a spot to put it. I don't know what boats your looking at but I will say my wellcraft 270 coastal had a gen as an option so there's already a spot and a lot of other brands and types are set up the same way. But it won't be cheap
