Possible water pump issue???

I have a 2006 Mercury 50hp 2-stroke 3cyl. The serial # is 1B443848. I am thinking that the water pump might be getting weak. I have seen several videos on youtube where these engines are running at idle and there is a steady stream on water flowing from the pee hole. My engine looks nothing like that. It is more like spitting water out in globs but once you go up on the rpms then it becomes steady. Is this a sign that the water pump is getting weak and needs to be replaced? Also what kind a service/maintenance manual do you suggest for this engine? I am getting ready for duck season and I want to look over this engine. Thank you in advance.

If you don't know when the impeller was last replaced and it has been more than three years good idea to just replace it.

Thanks I will. Also I was looking over this engine and I found that plate that covers the 5th bolt on the bottom of the lower unit is missing. I believe this is called a trim plate??????? Any ideas on where I can find one?

The trim tab is used to lesson the sterring toqure that the prop places on the motor that causes it to pull to one side. Trim tabs can be bought here on Iboats or several other sites and dealers. You will need the bolt that holds it on the motor if you do not have the one for it.

Thanks guys. I installed a new water pump kit and I ordered a new trim tab/bolt/and washer and installed them. Everything is working just fine now.
