Possible Yoke Seal Leak

I think I may have a yoke seal leak.
I presure tested the outdrive over the winter and it held ~15# w/o any problems.....but my resevoir has gone down about 2" in the past 20hrs of use and the small amout of water in the bilge (the amount the pump can't get out) seems "sludgey"

If I did have a leak on the yoke seal could gear oil the into the boat?

Not too worried about the gears going dry as I have the resevoir...............

Any thoughts? Can I just keep adding to the resevoir if I need to?

Yes, just pull the drive and look for oil in the bellows.

I was afraid of that........just did't really want to pull the boat out of the water.

I will watch it and see if it continues to use fliud.

That won't affect the gimbal bearing will it?

It washes the grease out of the gimbal bearing.

Where would the gear oil enter the boat?

Would it travel down the driveshaft or is there another opening?

Think I found the problem........

When I removed the resevoir I noticed the tube on the bottom wasn't fully seated and the clamp was not that tight.

Hoping this was the source of my leak!

looks like that was my problem............no usage since last trip!!
