POINTER,
This is another internet lie. I had posted the same article about a week ago until someone pointed this out to me. Here's the snopes article on this urban legend. I asked that my thread be removed. He may be liberal and a Democrat, but he is a fellow veteran.
Snopes

I give Kerry a lot of grief also, but I would like to see the citations for his medals. Or even have someone that was there give their account of what happened, because it does sound fishy to me.

guageguy,
If you read the article in the snopes link above, there are references to people who served with Kerry when he was injured. Most of the injuries were minor, allowing him to return to duty the next day.

I do agree that this guy uses his military record like a badge. I listened to him in his last debate and in his answer to the very first question he was asked he made reference to his military record, even though the question had nothing to do with his past.

I was never in the military, but how do you get a medal for an injury that doesn't cause you to miss any service?

I thought medals were for heroic or meritorious action? Do minor injuries count?

Could someone please clairify this for me.

Thanks

That's exactly what makes it sound fishy to me Joe. Any vet I have ever met who has faced enemy fire, doesn't like to talk about it much. This includes me, my dad and grandfathers. My medals are tucked away, as are my dads-don't know about gramps, but never saw them.

This guy throws it in your face all the time, and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth as well as the guys I hang with at the VFW.

well he does, I remember one episode where Frank was awarded the purple heart because he was injured by a shell... an egg shell.

Seriously though, whats up with Kerry's hair?

The guy gives me the creeps, he looks like Maury Povich, with Jay Leno's hair.

I have to question the 'authority' of SNOPES. I've seen things there before, primarily on the Clintons, that I just don't believe are true. SNOPES lists their references, but what you read is their interpretation(?).
