Re: Post your motor height PLZ

I have the same motor on a 20' Sun Tracker. I have also checked your other post in the prop section. I had a 14x11 prop and had low RPMs at WOT. Like you I switched to a 14x9 and the setup would over rev at WOT. I have the old prop in getting rebuilt as it has quite a few dings in it. 14X11 is the recommended prop. I'll be at the boat this weekend, and one of my tasks is to check and possibly adjust the motor height. Presently it is set one up from the lowest setting. FYI, the easiest way to adjust the height is while on the trailer. Prop up the leg of the motor with blocks, support the motor on each side, remove the mounting bolts, and adjust by raising or lowering the trailer tongue.

You have a pontoon which has very turbulent water in the stern around the pod so you want the motor full down. You do not have a planing hull so engine height adjustment on a super performance toon may provide some added performance but on your rig -- no. Your throttle cable needs adjustment. You also need a 14x9 Mercury pontoon prop (four blade). 11P is too much pitch for that load.
