18' Sylvan Aluminum -1991- 90 HP Mercury $2750 - Windsor Region Powerboats, Motorboats For Sale - Kijiji Windsor Region Canada.

Looking for an affordable upgrade from my 14 foot 15hp fishing boat.

Needs to be able to handle watersports (tube and wakeboard) but still be good for fishing. I would add 2 seats to it (like to be able to fish with a few friends

He said its got a soft spot in the floor but not too bad. My understanding is that the rotten stringers people always find are in fiberglass boats and this should be fine under the floor right?

ideas?

A 90HP on that boat will do some watersports - primarily tubing and pull a skier - okay. The boat probably won't be great for wake boarding or doing the hotter slalom stuff though. A serious skier would be disappointed with it, but if you're primarily looking for a fishing boat this one will do double duty well enough.

I THINK the aluminum boats are typically without wood stringers. So, if you're comfortable with the floor I wouldn't worry about the stringers.

Make sure you get it out on the water and test it out.

Re: potential new boat

In the '80s and early '90s I had 3 Sylvans to 22'. They were a very good boat. I'd have never taken that boat on Lake Erie with a 90hp. I was going to say $2200 until I saw you are in Canada-- prices there are crazy. With a floor that is going to need replaced $2200 may still be a fair price, $2500 tops. I know that floor has had something done as those boats were wood covered with carpet or vinyl. Good luck.

Floor is pooched but the motor is in top shape. Considering its an aluminum I think I'm ok with the floor. Easy enough winter project to slap in new wood and a few back to back seats. Got him to 2200 now just gotta sell the newly prego wife on it. Pray for me y'all
